NX Nastran for FEMAP
Originally developed by NASA for the Saturn V project, Nastran Code has been an industry standard for over 40 years, Nastran is a finite element (FE) solver for stress, vibration, buckling, structural failure, heat transfer, acoustics and aeroelasticity analyses.
NX Nastran brand came into being when MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation (MSC) shared the code of MSC Nastran with Uni-Graphics Solutions(UGS) in 2002, as settlement for an anti-trust case. UGS was later acquired by Siemens which continued to develop and sell the code.

FEMAP (which stands for Finite Element Modeling and Processing) is an advanced engineering simulation software program from Siemens. FEMAP creates finite element analysis (FEA) models of complex engineering products and systems, and displays solution results. FEMAP can model components, assemblies or systems and determine the behavioral response for a given operating environment in a virtual setup.
Engineers worldwide use FEMAP for modeling everything from simple solid components to complex structure like entire spacecraft assemblies and Offshore Structures. Additionally, several state-of-the-art geometric extensions are included, to ensure that FEMAP is able to work with data from virtually any source, directly and seamlessly (e.g. CATIA, Autodesk inventor, Pro/E, etc.). Another distinguishing feature of FEMAP is its ability to work with an unusually broad range of finite element solver solutions.
